The Design Fabrication Zone is delighted to announce this year’s winner of the 2018 Yabu Pushelberg Award for Innovation in Interior Design.

Congratulations to RSID student Emily Allan! The Award will provide Emily with $6,000 to take her proposal from ideation to the prototyping stage over the summer months. Her project will install pneumatic and inflatable spatial installations in four derelict urban sites across the city - laneways, empty lots, and forgotten
landmarks.

The applications were evaluated and scored by a jury based on the following criteria: proposed interior design innovation/entrepreneurship, clarity of ideas developed, compelling new research, creative and/or prototyping direction, and overall presentation.

The award is intended to fund innovation and entrepreneurship in Interior Design by supporting a third or fourth year Ryerson Interior Design student to pursue his or her own area of interest and specialty, and support new ways of thinking about interior design innovation.
