Barbara Vogel received her Masters of Science in Architecture at the University of Technology in Krakow, Poland. She has pursued her professional career in Poland, Finland and Canada and has worked as the Design Director at the Arthur Erikson Architects office in Toronto. Currently, she is a partner at Vogel Architects Inc. Professor Vogel was also Design Director for several Canadian embassies in Europe and abroad.
As well as receiving the Ontario Association of Architects 1999 Award of Architectural Excellence for the experimental Summer Retreat Project, her architectural projects have been featured in various Canadian and international architectural magazines.
Professor Vogel is a registered Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects, is an educator member of Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) and is a dormant member of the Polish and Finnish Architects Associations. She is an elected member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) and the current RCA President. For her contributions to the visual arts’ national organization, Professor Vogel has been honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
